Where are you from? How long have you lived in Denver?
I have lived in Denver my whole life, 29 years to be exact.
What were you like as a student?
I am the student who tried really hard in school, was polite, but struggled some. I had to work extra hard to understand the material. I tell my students that I know what it is like to struggle and I strive to not make them feel that way and provide them the help and patience they deserve. Therefore, my door is always open for extra help.
What are your secret talents and/or hobbies?
I am a cat mom, I collect candles, I love to travel, read, (mainly mystery books), go to concerts, try new restaurants, spend time with my family, watch Netflix/Hulu, ride my electric bicycle around the lake, and I love to teach – I have my dream job!
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the MCT family?
I love the smaller environment. It really gives me space to foster deeper connections with all of my students and co-workers. It truly feels like a family. I also love being able to provide more one on one, individualized help to students due to the smaller class sizes.
What is your favorite thing about your work?
My favorite thing about my job is building relationships with my students and seeing their faces light up when they have an “aha” moment. I have a job where it feels like I am not even at work and having the funniest day ever – every single day! Lucky me 🙂
