Where are you from? How long have you lived in Denver?

I am from Memphis, TN, and I have lived in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica, Brooklyn, NYC, and Washington D.C..  I moved to Denver three years ago and bought my home in Thornton two years ago, I love Colorado and consider this my home now. 🙂

What were you like as a student?

I usually completed everything ahead of time and enjoyed discussion as my favorite part of class.  To be extra honest, I would get bored when I didn’t feel my time was being utilized well, so I did struggle with staying in school.  I had a 4.4 GPA, but still got the phone call home that I needed to come to school for the required number of days, or I wouldn’t graduate.  I went to a small high school that really didn’t have any differentiated options for further challenge, and I think that was part of my lack of motivation after a certain point.

What are your secret talents and/or hobbies?

Mountain biking, dancing, yoga, and spending time in hammocks.

What is your favorite thing about being a part of the MCT family?

I love that the staff is small and the student to teacher ratio is small, this really allows for us to know everyone and really give individualized support.

What is your favorite thing about your work?

I am passionate about my content area and love getting to share this!
