Dear MCT Students, Parents, and Community Members,
I am grateful, humbled, and excited to introduce myself as the new interim Principal of Montbello Career and Tech High School. My name is Arnetta Koger and I bring to you more than twenty years of leading, teaching, and learning experience. I have been dedicated to student success for more than sixteen years. I hold a Master’s Certificate/Principal Licensure in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University. During my twenty plus year career, I’ve had the honor of serving our country as an Army officer during peacetime and during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. As an educator I’ve been an elementary, middle, and high school teacher, senior teacher leader, instructional coach, Dean of Academics, and most recently as Dean of Instruction for two years at MCT.
I am a servant leader who believes in equity, and in creating life-long learners that not only advocate for themselves but those around them. As the interim principal I will continue to uphold the vision of MCT, to build positive relationships, to advocate for, empower, and inspire students to find their passion while using their tenacity to be change makers. Along with teachers, and staff, we will work diligently to create a safe, respectful, engaging, and equitable learning environment.
As your principal, it is important to me that everyone – students, families, and teachers, feel welcome and are excited to be at MCT. My door will always be open and I invite you to be actively involved in creating a place where students love to be, and parents are part of that success. Please feel free to call or email me to ask questions or discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year. I look forward to serving you, and your students, and to make 2021-2022 the most successful year yet!

Estimados estudiantes, padres y miembros de la comunidad de MCT:
Estoy agradecida, honrada y emocionada de presentarme como la nueva directora interino de La Escuela Secundaria Técnica y Profesional de Montbello. Mi nombre es Arnetta Koger y les traigo más de veinte años de experiencia en liderazgo, enseñanza y aprendizaje. Me he dedicado al éxito de los estudiantes durante más de dieciséis años. Tengo una Maestría / Licenciatura Principal en Liderazgo Educativo y Estudios de Políticas de la Universidad de Denver, una Maestría en Educación Primaria y una Licenciatura en Justicia Criminal de la Universidad Estatal de Chicago. Durante mis más de veinte años de carrera, he tenido el honor de servir a nuestro país como oficial del Ejército durante tiempos de paz y durante Desert Shield / Desert Storm. Como educadora, he sido maestra de escuela primaria, intermedia y secundaria, líder de maestros, entrenadora de instrucción, Decana Académico y, más recientemente, Decana de Instrucción durante dos años en MCT.
Soy una líder servidora que cree en la igualdad y en la creación de aprendices de por vida que no solo se defiendan a sí mismos sino a quienes los rodean. Como directora interino, continuaré defendiendo la visión de MCT, para construir relaciones positivas, para defender, empoderar e inspirar a los estudiantes a encontrar su pasión mientras usan su tenacidad para hacer cambios. Junto con los maestros y el personal, trabajaremos diligentemente para crear un entorno de aprendizaje seguro, respetuoso, atractivo y equitativo.
Como su directora, es importante para mí que todos, estudiantes, familias y maestros, se sientan bienvenidos y emocionados de estar en MCT. Mi puerta siempre estará abierta y los invitó a participar activamente en la creación de un lugar donde a los estudiantes les encanta estar, y los padres son parte de ese éxito. No dude en llamarme o enviarme un correo electrónico para hacer preguntas o discutir cualquier inquietud que pueda tener durante el año escolar. ¡Espero poder servirle a usted y a sus estudiantes, y hacer de 2021-2022 el año más exitoso hasta ahora!
